As someone who loves to write, this was incredibly relatable. The way these two authors write about writing, the passion. And then translate that to the passion and tension between two authors, ugh it’s so good. THE ANGST. Also the authors’ writing was so beautiful, how they captured every moment/glance between Katrina and Nathan. The burning, the unrequited love all those years. The glowing embers of passion, it was SO good.

I relate to Katrina on many levels, mainly being afraid of disappointing people and being afraid of my own happiness. This book struck such a chord with me, one of my favorite romance books of all time for sure.

WHAT A WAY TO START A YEAR.
This book is often compared to Emily’s Henry books and I would disagree. Both are written beautifully, don’t get me wrong. They are in two different camps.

The prose is absolutely astonishing. I was coloring while listening to this novel and I kept picking up my head to drink up all the words. It’s a very melancholy, so be prepared.

Also, please check triggers before going in. Can’t wait for this adorable writing COUPLE’s next book!

I had been recommended this book by a few people, but I think they all had listened to the audio book and I think I may have had a different feeling about the book if I had listened to it.

Firstly, I had no desire for these two to get together. Yes Kat's fiance is awful, but...so is Kat. I did not enjoy her character and kind of just didn't care about what happened with her. Nathan was far more interesting as a character and the wiring for his chapters was a bit easier to digest. Kat's chapters had a bit more of a literary style, which is totally fine, but kept Kat at a bit of a distant.

I did enjoy learning about how the two wrote together and how their processes evolved. Harriet was a good vehicle for showing this evolution and I honestly wish she had more page time.

Lastly, the reason for their fallout was weak.
Oh no he wrote down his feelings and then she BURNED the page? Yeah okay sure that's just miscommunication out the wazoo and a big sigh from me

This was the first novel that I have read by these two authors. I was thoroughly surprised how much I enjoyed this romance book. I cannot express enough gratitude that the book was not on a loop of repetitive scenarios. Nor was it the “will they/won’t they end up together throughout the whole book.”
It’s been quite a while since I’ve read a novel with such captivating writing. The description of each of the characters emotions are written magnificently.
While I was reading the book, I kept wondering if this truly is how co-authors write novels together.
The fact that they authors are married in real life is a bonus. I will read another book written by them. I think they would be wonderful guests for a Q&A session for a bookclub. Mild sexual content. Medium swearing.

A fun and addictive summer read! I really enjoyed the timeline aspect, which isn’t usually a favorite of mine. In the end, I will always be a sucker for books about books, and would definitely recommend for Romance fans.

I liked this book, but I wasn't surprised by anything that happened. I wish there had been an unexpected twist. The last fifty pages or so didn't do it for me.

I liked the first three quarters and enjoyed the structure of dual narration + past and present.

I found the insights into the writing process/publishing world to be interesting.

Chris was a perfectly crafted villian.

I love reading books about writers and I love romance, and this had both! I really liked the duel-perspectives of the characters and how the relationships developed over time. Not really as spicy as I tend to like my romance books, but it's great fiction.
