“I’m just the governess,” Alex quickly volunteered.
“You are not just the governess,” Chase corrected. “You are not ‘just’ anything.”
I am a sucker for the nanny trope so I adored this book! Alex is such a beautiful, tender hearted heroine — she’s such a good take on the shy “good girl” trope! This book was also just hilarious!!

I loved the FMC and the children. It made me laugh out loud a couple times which I always appreciate. I didn’t adore this one as much as the first, but it was super fun to have a cameo from those characters in this one.
I wish it would’ve been longer and a little more in-depth. The ending especially felt rushed and unsatisfying. It all resolved a little too quickly.
I’ll be reading the next one. This is a quick, steamy, witty, mostly lighthearted (despite all of the doll funerals) regency romance.

Honesly have no idea whyyy I decided to pick this book up. I had DNFed the series in 2020, no idea for what reason I thought it was gonna be a good idea for me to try again. I am actually dnfing the series this time.
I think these kinds of books are just not for me anymore. I am getting so tired of women and romance and sex being represented in this way; it is so unrealistic for most of the population and I am tired of it, in the end, it is just detrimental to our society.
