Brimming with potential -- I'm excited for the sequel. The world building was hefty and a lot of this book was helping to do that.

I liked the world of this story. The setting is an interesting mixture of Indian mythology inspired(I think?), city bordering on a desert, with futuristic technology like holopods and hoverpods, mixed with political intrigue where everyone has their own agenda and a religion based on fire magic. Very cool.
The downside of this book: It was kind of slow. Pace wise and slow burn (let's be honest, the romance is a side plot, even tho it's mainly advertised for it).
