It took me a little bit to get into it, but by the 100 page mark I was committed to finishing today. I've never read this book before, but it gave me nostalgia as it very much reads like a fantasy middle grade book from 2012, and I mean that in a good way. This was a fun book, and I look forward to when I can pick up a copy of the next book.

I loved this book so much . I can't tell you why it took me an entire year to finish it though . My only problem with it was that I found it a bit boring toward the middle.

ORPHAN TO PRINCE! READ IT!!!
This book was incredibly intriguing and kept me engaged the entire time I read it! I could hardly put it down! The plot twist was unexpected and a wonderful addition to this already amazing work! Highly recommend!

This was a reread and it's still a 4.5 stars for me.

I enjoyed that, while the twist was obvious to me both times, the foreshadowing was completed nicely throughout. And the few secrets that weren't ever hinted at still felt real due to them fitting in with the characters and their personalities.

I also enjoyed that when the twist was finally revealed, it was a quick two chapters of flashbacks to fully explain and then nicely and easily jumped back to the main story.

There were a few times when the story dragged or got repetitive, which is partially why I can't give a full 5 stars.

“A person can be educated and still be stupid, and a wise man can have no education at all.”

My favorite book in the series, by far. The twists, the turns, I loved it.
