Enjoyed this because of the narrator.

Very interesting on how a war general thought out wars like 2500+ years ago.

full disclosure: i only read this book because its fictional counterpart plays a role in one of my favourite books (the poppy war <3). to get the obvious out of the way, this is an ancient chinese military treatise written in 5th century BC - it’s obviously not winning any awards for most entertaining book of the year. most of the ideas + concepts discussed aren’t exactly groundbreaking or 100% applicable anymore given technological advancements in warfare but there were some nuggets of wisdom here and there. i believe i would’ve enjoyed this much more had it been accompanied by some sort of modern-day analysis as i’d be intrigued to know just much weight our current world leaders give to ‘the art of war’

Seems kind of illegal to rate this book somehow. I’m not sure what I got from it but it was a good at work listen.
