Sophie's Key is an incredible time-travel romance! I usually don't read romances, because most authors tack on some toxic dynamics and call it cute. But not Jodi Jensen! Sure, the love interests have their differences. (One's from the early 1900s and the other is from our era.) But they work through them in a healthy way! And when one character is behaving in an unacceptable manner, the other calls them out on it. Neither party in this relationship holds more power over the other and they both treat each other with the utmost respect, which is what I love! Jodi Jensen shows us that you CAN write a healthy, exciting romance without relying on toxicity and abusive scenarios. This book isn't just about romance—it's about two people growing as individuals through their relationship with one another. There's action, adventure, grief, sex, and so much more packed into this lightning-fast read! ♥

I loved this historical/time-travel romance! I'm sometimes a bit iffy with time-travel as it can be overly complicated and confusing, but this book had a clear and deceptively simple plot which hooked me right from the start. Modern day Sophie walks through a door and is transported back in time to 1895 Utah, where she meets the gorgeous widower Jacob and his downright adorable daughter Meri. The world-building and vivid descriptions in this story are wonderful and the characters are engaging, although my personal preference is for dual POV in romance - this was from Sophie's POV.
I liked Selina a lot too. I assume she will help other couples get their across-time HEAs in future books and I can't wait to read them!
