I'm reiterating much of what other have said so I'll keep it short. I like Grisham's storytelling in general and I like sport stories, so this book was a natural choice. You don't need to be a fan of baseball or even understand the game to enjoy this book. The characters are well developed and the dialog is natural and believable. Overall, a good read. :-)

A short, sweet story. Wonderfully nuanced characters that develop throughout the course of the book. You do not have to be a sports fan to enjoy this truly endearing read.

I think this is probably a really good book, but I just don't like baseball. So I found myself skipping over big sections of the first few chapters because all the baseball talk was tedious.
