Honestly, this book is amazing. Sure it's not amazing literature (though Braddon is definitely among the better 19th century writers) and will probably disappear come 100 years. But nonetheless, it is worth reading.

The plot is fun, scary and thrilling. Lady Audley is charming and beautiful, and you will desperately fall in love with her. George and Robert will be a titillating secret for some of you, and others of you will not even notice it.

I read this for class on dangerous women, and I would read it again on my own. Dangerous woman does not even cover it.

A bit predictable and Heterosexual in places, but very readable. The pages practically turned on their own.

I don't remember why this ended up on my to read list, but I don't regret it. It took a bit for me to get into it, but once I did, I enjoyed it.

3.5 stars. I am comparing this with other Victorian literature. I definitely enjoyed it, but I felt I had read this type of story before. So what is Lady Audley's secret? I'm not telling. You might think you know what it is, halfway through the book, but the author keeps us in suspense until the end of the book.
