I actually only read the first part of the Divine Comedy, that being The Inferno.
The Inferno was a very interesting look at what Hell looks like through the mind of Dante at the time period from which he wrote the book. I think his description of Hell and who would be sent there, was fascinating.
I would love to read the rest of The Divine Comedy.

My final book in my 2022 classics challenge! It was alright. I think Inferno was the standout. Purgatorio and Paradisio were fine but I see why Inferno is the one most remembered.

I decided to DNF this. Not because of the story, but because of the audiobook. The narrator does a good job, I guess, but the way it is narrated doesn't work for me. Every Canto was summarized first and then the original text started. There was no easy way of skipping the summary and sometimes I zoned out and missed when Dante's text started. And the more I listened to it the more I noticed I just used it as background noise without really listening. At first I wanted to pull through, but it just doesn't seem worth it and is ruining the book for me. Sadly.
