yg 2 bintang itu untuk komiknya, bukan ttg ceritanya, krn crt aslinya saya jg blm smpt baca versi lengkapnya, hanya versi2 abridged yg sdh disederhanakan macam komik ini. dan dlm komik ini sama sekali tdk terasa misi pengarang memperlihatkan wajah after life seorang manusia... di inferno, purgatori maupun paradiso. malahan sinopsis di sampul blkg buku lebih bagus menjelaskan isinya.

I very much enjoyed this translation, but at the same time wish I had an annotated copy.
It took me almost a year and a half to finish it, but I've finally done it!
So much has already been said about this book, by far greater minds than mine, that anything I could possibly have to say is probably superfluous. Even so: this book is a literary masterpiece of verse and description. It doesn't matter if you agree with the ideas presented here or not, or even if you're religious or a believer; you can still appreciate the superb verses and the evocative images it creates.
I do feel, however, that it ends a bit too abruptly and lacks a proper conclusion. Is it too much to ask to have the details of how Dante made his way back to Earth, when we are given all the other steps in his long journey?

It took me about 3 years to finish this...I admit it would have gone quicker if I had paid attention what version I bought and actually picked up the one in prose. It was a good story with interesting punishments and such but it was dry to me after Hell (inferno).
There's just too much preaching in this for me to continue to read it with any kind of enjoyment. Pity 'cause some of the surreal imagery is wonderful.
