The last book in The Village Romance series is a fun one: thankfully, it bucked the trend that had annoyed me with both the previous titles in the series. A Lesson in Love does not have the outsider with no connection to the village fleeing city life. Yes, Rory is not deep into the fabric of the village when the book starts, but her family lives on the outskirts, so there is some connection there (even if she doesn't start out with a terribly positive idea of the place).
I also enjoyed getting to know the professor and the author… both of those professions intrigued me, as well as making it natural for she and Rory to meet (as well as some opportunities for meddling friends and colleagues).
This was a neat idea, to bring together three authors to collaborate on a set of books set in the same village. (I read them in publication order, but the books' stories don't meaningfully overlap: I really only noticed cameo appearances, where the couples from different books cross paths in village life, but nothing important to the plot of any of the books, so you won't really miss anything should you read out of order or if only one or two of the books interest you.)

This was a really wholesome and refreshing read for me! With a really cute setting in the village which makes it all the more wholesome and I very much enjoyed Harper Bliss' writing style. And with that, I'll be sure to look for more Harper Bliss books to read in the future <3

Well, I have professor mommy issues, and this definitely scratched that itch.

Worth the wait
This one was less about the village characters and more about the main characters. I loved it. I can appreciate the age gap angle and it's challenges. Very well done as always Harper.

Usually Harper Bliss is a good book but not this time.
I love the whole age gap thing and a teacher/student fic is right up my alley. But this one really disappointed me.
There’s no spark, no emotional connection, the sex scenes aren’t something to write home about, the book is very superficial and light, and in my opinion; easily forgettable.
That being said, if you’re looking for something light to read in between your heavier books this is a good alternative. It’s short, you don’t have to think much, very little emotion in it and superficial
