Very cool to see one of my favorite book series turned into a graphic novel. Some of L.K.'s work was kind of hard to turn from the written world to the one of images. Anita's sense of humour was lost I think. The fact that when your reading she seems downright scary , like the "look" she gives people that makes them afraid can't really be seen in this illustrated version of Anitas life. The characters are illustrated accurately I think. It's pretty hilarious that all the people with long curly hair have a side part in there hair. The story overall is the same as the book. A fun read for Anita Blake fans.

The author adapted her first novel to graphic novel form (kind of a theme these days: Odd Thomas, Harry Dresden, more I'm sure). I really enjoyed the first several Anita books, so it was a blast from the past.

The drawings are a bit much for me, but they fit the book. She frequently calls her main male characters "beautiful", so I guess it's fitting that they look like women. There are some flow issues (why is the exposition at the end instead of at the beginning?), but it's a fun read. I wouldn't bother buying it, but it's worth the several weeks wait on ILL.

Just finished reading this collection. I have the individual comics, as well, but didn't read it until the collection came out. It's a pretty good adaptation of the novel, although, I found it to be a bit "wordy." There's quite a lot of narration panels, as opposed to actual dialoge from the characters. Overall, though, I really liked it, and artwork is pretty phenomenal. I think Anita looks pretty good. Jean Claud looks a little younger than I pictured him from the books, though. For some reason, I had more a Rutger Hauer type image in my head. Oh, well...I'm a guy, so what do I know, right? Heh. I'll be looking forward to more.

I've never read the actual series, so I can't speak to the accuracy of this adaptation. However, I didn't care for the art style, and the characters were pretty boring tbh. Not really interested in continuing, but I'd maybe consider reading the novels if they gave some more depth to the characters.

Really liked finally getting this story instead of pieces referenced in a ton of books. Great art work too

I enjoyed the comic book half of it quite a bit, and the cliff notes side is useful if you're new to anita blake's 'verse. It's also incredibly, terribly, horribly repetitive and clearly no substitute for the book. It is not entirely necessary to revisit the plot of guilty pleasures from the perspective of every single character mentioned in the book. In fact, it's mind numbing and off-putting.

This book translates to graphic novel really well. I really enjoyed the art. The artist did a great job of bringing the book to life.

One PNR without any R-omance...not that I can see in sight.

The graphics were lively and vivid but storyline was jarring. Maybe 'cause I never read Anita Blake before -ya sue me but I don't care.

Since #2 is already available in local library, I will read it and see how it goes, but I don't see myself being fan of this series...neither it encouraged me to read the book....
