this book was sitting on my shelf for far too long, i feel sad that ive wasted time i could have used to appreciate this book!!
the story is brilliant and i am a big fan of the writing style. every sentence felt necessary and plots points were earned and planned very carefully.

I wish there was more. That is the only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars. The end was a bit abrupt to me. Overall though this book was so good. There are not enough gay coming of age stories. This got me in my feelings as a homo and as someone who frequents a lesbian bar and other gay bars in San Francisco. I love that Lily didn’t lie to her family when it came down to it. She is so brave and very realistic. I just wanna give her a hug. And Kath.

4.5: Slow burn. Such a realistic portayl of discoving your gay. I loved how well rounded the gay charactors portrayl were and how none of them where 1D. I alsp liked how the complexities (the wonderful parts and the difficult parts of being a part of the gay community were displayed. I think this book my have started a new reading era for me!
