{My thoughts} – This is a neat little book that consists of eight, five minute super hero stories for young children. The illustrations in this book are based on the DC Comics Lego series platform. Each illustrated page goes along nicely with the story it coincides with.

The story I enjoyed the most in this book was Sidekick Showdown. Who doesn’t love a little Harley Quinn? It was a nice fast and enjoyable story. I look forward to reading these stories to my daughter in the future.

I recommend this book for any child that enjoys superheroes and the Lego series.

"It was good. I was very proud of it. All the characters were my favourite. All of the bad guys. I like comics."

A colorful collection of short-stories offering a variety of DC LEGO characters and their mini-adventures.

Featuring prominent pictures, large font, and roughly a single paragraph on every page, the stories within this sturdy hardback are ideal for early readers. The estimated 5-minute length also caters well to more abbreviated attention spans. Unlike with some LEGO books that use still shots from existing shows/movies, this anthology utilizes a more cell-shaded art style—which gives the characters depth, while still complimenting a more comic book feel.

NOTE: If you were expecting all new adventures adding to the existing DC LEGO world, be warned that at least half of the eight stories are taken from existing books. We already owned the individual paperbacks for Race Around The World, Sidekick Showdown, Carnival Capers, and Space Justice. (Had I known there would be so many repeats, I might have been a little less enthused.) I do, however, much prefer the binding and cover quality—and the convenience of having them all together. For your money’s worth, this may be the best way to go if you plan on owning a number of these stories.

I would recommend this for young LEGO DC fans, and the parents who would like to introduce their children to the basics of DC comics in a more relatable format.
