Ooooooooh I’m so in. I’m SO IN. I’ve tiptoed around 600+ pages high fantasy for yearsss and was never brave enough to start one. I’m so immensely happy I finally took the plunge with this story. I loved the characters and the world building (creative and engaging, without melting your brain like dune). The plot was intense and fast moving and genuinely kept me on the edge of my seat. Apologies to my husband for straight up ignoring him while I tore through the last 30% of this book today. If you love high fantasy I’m not sure how this will stack up to the major players amongst the genre, but if you’re like me and haven’t felt ready to tackle such a big book…let this be your sign!
