probably one of my favorite books i've read this year !!! it's so good, not just plot-wise but the writing is nice, the characters make sense & seem to grow throughout the book AND there's a lot going on without being too much or too difficult, even though it was a bit hard for me to understand the word building in the beginning, it was nicely explained over time with more and more backstory added in between chapters (without being obvious that it was just backstory to explain the wordbuilding)
AND the plot twists or plot points weren't extremely obvious or predictable which is always a biggg win in my book ! they truly added to the story and didn't just cause unnecessary drama or something. anyway i would 100% recommend this and i'm very excited to read the other parts of this series to see how it all works out !

I didn't really know what I was getting into when I started this book.
It almost felt like a better version of Harry Potter to me, in the sense that each of the three friends had a pivotal role to play in the novel.
It's a decent YA fantasy and I appreciated the different perspectives that were given. But I'm not sure if it was unique enough for me to want to continue. I may just take a break from it and come back to the rest at a later time.

Aie. Bon. J'abandonne uniquement parce que c'est bien trop classique pour mon gout et que même si j'ai envie de lui donner une vraie chance, le fait est que je ne le reprend pas une fois posé. Je lui laisserai une autre chance plus tard dans ma vie, parce que j'ai l'impression que c'est un chouette bouquin.
