What a fun, adventurous story. I simply ADORE the way Lewis writes. He doesn’t go into minute detail. Instead, he assumes the reader can keep up with him. I love that. I enjoyed finding the religious undertones throughout the story. I can’t wait to read this with my children one day.

I've been enjoying reading these out loud with Annie. I don't think I ever made it past this book in the series as a kid, since I'm not a big fantasy reader. But I'm appreciating them more as an adult.

I seemed to plow through this book rather quickly and while I enjoyed it, I can't say I enjoyed it as much as The Magician's Nephew - or even as much as the movie adaptations that have been made - but I think that is because, unlike most book to movie adaptations - these books are short enough that the movie has the opportunity to give more detail - basically to deliver more of a very good thing. I also can rarely finish a book when I've already seen the movie, but I finished this one so that does say something. I didn't not like it - I just didn't love it as much as I'd been hoping - but I'm still enjoying the series and plan to continue reading it.

This is, for me, one of those books that no matter at what age you read it, you just travel back to wherever you were when you first read it. I LOVE getting that feeling I used to get when I read these books as a little girl, just now with the perspective that I have now as an almost grown-up (will never admit I am one already).
Now, about the book, I just ADORE the characters, especially the Beavers, such sweet and funny little creatures, I would love to experience their cozy home just once in my lifetime.
This book will always have my heart.
