4.58 AVERAGE

4.5 (and my 200th read book!!!)

I think I have to qualify this bc it's a YA novel, but why? I think every high school student should read this. It's not perfect, but it is so important.

Okay ngl that was emotional

After watching the movie I wanted to read the book. This book was such a quick introspective into how life can be rearranged and upturned due to tragedy. It gives people from a different life a glimpse into the thoughts and events that help to shape people that they can't relate to.

WOW! If you have the resources, PLEASE listen to the audiobook version of this. Bahni Turpin is an incredible narrator who totally understands Angie Thomas's perfectly crafted characters. This was the best audio book I have ever listened to. I felt like I really knew all of these characters - like I was one of Star's best friends. This book is honestly a very necessary read for EVERY teen and adult.
