I really like how raw and romantic this is; for every partner Paul has as the book progresses, something different is echoed within him. I enjoy how Aciman writes, even if it can be a little confusing sometimes ... but it genuinely feels like it's coming from the heart of a romantic.
There were some parts I enjoyed more than others, and it came to a rather abrupt ending (which, arguably, is the only way a book like this can come to), but despite that, I felt like I was clawing after just something a little more substantial.
It was worth my time nonetheless!

The YEARNING in this book is simply unparalleled. This man can write a BAR.
I like the story concept, each chapter is itself a variation on enigmatic lovers of our main man Paul. Paul and his love interests are unbeliveably horny and poetic and this is sometimes wonderfully stunning, sometimes realistically confronting, and sometimes unbearably cringe (especially in Star Lovers). A great summer romp.

i want to give this a 3.7... because i'm not sure it warrants a 4 but i really did enjoy it. really beautiful writing but unfortunately the last two chapters/lovers left me missing out. especially after the first and third chapter/lovers. there was so much depth in the first three even... but it tapered out in the last chunk. still a good novel
