I appreciate the messy feelings of grief and how sometimes you fixate on perhaps the wrong things at the wrong times, because well that's grief for you.  That said, I still feel like the main character Seraphine was always a bit of a mess and every one just let her be instead of getting therapy which is probably why she spiraled so terribly. I know that one of the stories was about her and her point of view, but she had such little consideration for her brothers who are also grieving with her and made them kind of just there, even when they did call her out on her behavior it felt like it didn't matter. Laura's story I like a bit more, I would have like to explore that storyline as it seemed like it had more depth but unfortunately we didn't get much about her until the end. Also Ruth deserved better development then what she got.

I liked the idea of the story but the ending just didn't stick the landing to me it felt incomplete and in a way unnecessary to go between the 2 timelines/stories and it kind of rushed to the ending, the for lack of a better word "villain" didn't make any sense, and the epilogue felt like it was a happy ending and I feel like it was only written as "happy" because that was Seraphine point of view because her mind is settled. However I feel like every thing still felt so unresolved or unexplored.
