An adorable graphic novel about a young girl who visits her seaside hometown and discovers the magic of the coral reef that protects their town. The art style is SO beautiful and this offers a lovely message about coral reef protection that is perfect for a younger audience! While I wish there was a bit more worldbuilding in the case of the aquicorns (they're basically never named in the story even though the book is named after them), I think this is a lovely middle-grade graphic novel about ocean protection and I would highly recommend!

All of Katie O’Niell’s books that I’ve read thus far have been full of cute queer people of color & mythical creatures. The story highlighted loss, grief, and recovery both in terms of loved ones and the ecological environment we inhabit. I wish it was longer, but I also understand it was intended as a children’s book.
