Too cute, as always. I love her illustration style so much! And the stories always have messages that are easy to understand for the younger audience.

Kay O'Neill, author of Princess Princess and The Tea Dragon Society is back with another adorable, soft, fantasy story with great matter-of-fact representation and important messages.
Aquicorn Cove is about our responsibility to care for the environment, in particular the ocean ecosystems. Beyond that, it is also about grief, community, respecting tradition, and caring for others. There's a cute sapphic romance as a subplot. The last couple of pages have information on coral reefs and the effect that climate change, pollution, and overfishing are having on the environment. I'm glad the author notes ways that individuals as a part of larger communities can make a difference, rather than putting all the onus on personal responsibility alone-- they also advocate for civic engagement through voting and contacting representatives as a way to enact big change. O'Neill does such a great job of creating gentle tales with gorgeous artwork and applicable lessons, and this was no exception. I'm looking forward to their next work.

I love Katie O'Neill's work so much. It's ridiculous.
The gorgeous art pairs perfectly with the conservationist message. There's diversity of all sorts. It's just so lovely and peaceful and kind.
