Oh Alex. Why did you...ugh! What a very sad book this was. It was very good but it was also very sad. I'll write a better review later. For now...ughhh.

After calming down review:
Well...what a frustrating book. Oh, don't get me wrong, I loved this book. And I even didn't loathe the main character as much I thought I would. And I LOVED Alex. But anyhoo, this book is almost too complicated to give a synopsis on but I'll try...
Sometime in the future, the U.S. has declared that "love" is a disease that needs to be cured because it causes so much hurt and everything. If you are caught with the disease, or with someone of the opposite sex before you are treated, you can be sent to jail or executed. Lena's Mom eventually "committed suicide" because she didn't want to go through another treatment/procedure. And now Lena, right before hers, falls in love with Alex. Awww. How nice. Sike. Everyone had to ruin it :( And what's worse was the ending. BOO! :/

I listened to this entire audiobook and came to review it only to find that I had already read and reviewed the book in 2020. I guess that's how memorable it was! I also liked it a lot less in audiobook format, as it really brings out how stupid and childish Lena is most of the time.

This book had an interesting story line, but the details really bogged me down. I enjoy much more conversation than description in a book - that's just my preference.
