I had an issue with the first half of the book and it was that the main character Lena wasn't likable. She seemed weak and a little annoying, to be honest with you. In addition, the book was slow-paced. I kept getting description after description of the loveless country she lives in instead of interesting information. I felt that Hana might have been a better main character (which is why, I guess, Lauren Oliver created a short in-between book that focused on Hana). I have to say, Lena does get better though, stronger and more interesting in the next book.
I wish Oliver went into further detail about Grace, Lena's little cousin. I had so many questions! She was really interesting.
If you weren't convinced by Delirium to continue onto Pandemonium, I say screw that doubt and read the second book! Seriously. I wasn't going to read the next book because this one wasn't very interesting to me. I'm glad I ended up reading the second one. It was so much better!

Typical dystopian book. The first half of the book was a little slow. I found myself skipping whole paragraphs that just were not necessary and kind of boring. The second half was better. I must admit romances keep me reading and make a book more enjoyable to me.
I really didn't know I needed this in my life.

I blame the audio but I did not like this. The narrator's voice for Alex made him sound like a sickly ten year old. It was just so weird and cringey. I just wanted this book to end.
It felt a little lame to me in some parts. However, the ending was so intense and bittersweet that it makes me wonder what will come next...
This was a really interesting premise for a young adult dystopian future novel. I really enjoyed Lena's progression through the novel, and I think that the author captured her feelings very well. I also enjoyed that her change of heart wasn't totally contrived - she wasn't able to give up all of the ideas she'd been raised to have overnight. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
