This book was fast paced, easy and fun! It’s definitely not the greatest book I’ve ever read. But honestly I think sometimes you need books like that. I also think the books have got the potential to really grow in readability as the series continues.

Ex boyfriends dad trope is never my fave, but I saw someone recommend this on booksta and I was in need of something fast paced to get me out of a bit of a slump. Tbh, it wasn’t badly done. I like the way it was handled and the way the reactions were written when the secret inevitability came out. The spice was great, I’m truly discovering a love for cowboys in the bedroom.

If you like: praise, older men, protective alpha male, nicknames. This might just be for you!

I also enjoyed the element of mystery woven throughout this as you’re trying to piece together who is sabotaging the family ranch and how they’re going to receive justice. Just added something else to the story. I think it’s nice to start a series and get introduced to so many characters that you know you’ll get to read about as it goes on! I love when you can anticipate everyone’s happy ever after.

Gramma Grace was a delight, as was Magnolia. I am excited to read her story with Tripp because I hear rumours of a breeding kink 😏

Overall comments are: the book was very fast paced and honestly a bit Insta lovey, but not terribly done. Just not my favourites. Fisher did have some depth to his character but I would have liked to see that explored more potentially and also learn more about Noah. Also I wanted to read more about the ranch, maybe scene setting needed to be developed? The book was an easy read, although heed content warnings.

Surprised by this one! Some tropes I don’t normally gravitate towards and some twists and turns in the plot. The family tensions felt realistic and this book set up a good wider cast of characters.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Fisher and Noah make a great couple they have good chemistry and are so supportive of each other. Fisher is giving the best cowboy daddy energy- hot, protective, and sweet. I loved the forbidden aspect of this book, ex-boyfriend’s dad is always a fun one! Fisher and Noah will have you rooting for them individually and as a couple. Fisher especially has overcome a lot and his vulnerability will have you emotional. I’d say this is Tempt by Melanie Harlow meets Elsie Silver. I’m excited to continue on with the series!
