Ich mochte Jennifer L. Armentrouts Schreibstil wieder unheimlich gerne - ich bin sehr schnell in die Geschichte reingekommen und die Seiten sind nur so dahingeflogen. Was mir aber am besten gefallen hat: der Humor. Ich habe an unglaublich vielen Stellen laut auflachen müssen und hatte definitiv meinen Spaß mit dem Buch.
Josie und Seth mochte ich von Anfang an unglaublich gerne.
Josie's Handlungen konnte ich nahezu immer nachvollziehen. Ich habe mit ihre gelitten und fand die Dinge, die ihr zugestoßen sind wirklich tragisch. Allerdings ist sie mir manchmal, durch ihre Gedanken, auf die Nerven gegangen und ich habe an der ein oder anderen Stelle die Augen verdreht.
Seth und seine trockene Art haben sich direkt in mein Herz geschlichen. Auch bei ihm war es so, dass ich mit ihm gelitten habe - die Dinge, die in seiner Vergangenheit passiert sind, sind schrecklich und ich möchte ihn am liebsten in den Arm nehmen. Aber auch er hat mich an der ein oder anderen Stelle mit den Augen rollen lassen.
Beiden hat es mir an der ein oder anderen Stelle ein wenig an Tiefgang gefehlt. Man lernt viel von ihnen und ihrer Vergangenheit kennen, aber dennoch hat irgendetwas gefehlt - wobei Seth auf jeden Fall mehr Tiefgang aufzuweisen hatte als Josie. Zudem waren mir beide, durch das gesamte Buch hinweg, viel zu hormongesteuert. Sie haben beide nur daran gedacht, wie gut der jeweils andere aussieht und wie es wohl wäre, zusammen im Bett zu landen. Ich kann durchaus nachvollziehen, dass man sich zueinander hingezogen fühlt, aber wenn ich fast gestorben wäre, denke ich nicht in der nächsten Sekunde daran, wie gut jemand aussieht und wie es wäre, ihn/sie zu küssen.
Ansonsten mochte ich die Beziehung der beiden sehr gerne, auch wenn es alles etwas schnell ging - die beiden sind auf jeden Fall prickelnd und die Funken sind übergesprungen. Es gab außerdem einige wirklich schöne, berührende und süße Momente, die mir im Gedächtnis geblieben sind.
Die Nebencharaktere haben mir ebenfalls gut gefallen und ich hoffe, dass sie auch in den nächsten Bände vorkommen werden (wovon ich allerdings ausgehe).
Die Handlung an sich war gerade am Anfang und zum Ende hin sehr spannend und actionreich. Viele Dinge sind ans Licht gekommen und die Kampfszenen hatten es wirklich in sich. Zudem mochte ich auch die Trainingsszenen sehr gerne und habe einiges dazugelernt. Ansonsten war das Buch sehr auf die zwischenmenschlichen Beziehung fixiert und wurde von den Empfindungen zwischen Josie und Seth gesteuert. Das fand ich auf der einen Seite ein bisschen schade, da ich mir einfach mehr "Spannung" erhofft hätte. Das Ende hat auf jeden Fall Lust auf mehr gemacht und ich freue mich schon sehr auf den nächsten Band. Ich denke, dass noch einiges auf den Leser zukommen wird und ich weiß nicht, ob ich und mein Herz dafür bereit sind.

I loved this book! JLA did a great job in this first installment of The Titan series. I love that we get to revisit some of our friends from The Covenant Series, but still know that this a new series removed.
Seth. I loved getting into his head. The whole time I read the Covenant series I wanted to get inside his head, and now I have been blessed with my wish! He is such a complicated character and love him for it. Also, he is super sweet and cute with Josie which just makes my heart melt. He wants to be better, and I love that Josie makes he want to do that.
Josie. Don't get me wrong I love a strong female protagonist, but I also love the female protagonists who don't start out strong, but come into their own, and that is the character that Josie is. I love her vulnerability and naiveté because I can already see the seeds from JLA of how Josie will become strong in her own way. And I love how on of those ways could be that she is Seth's rock (just like Aiden was Alex's).
Great first book and looking forward to continuing the series!

The narration was horrible, especially the male narrator, to the point it distracted from the story. The main character was supposed to have "a slight accent" and the male narrator went for a caricature of Count Dracula while the female narrator seemed to make him a little French. 🤷♀️
This series appears to follow another which I would have read first. It does give some background so it isn't necessary to read to understand this one, but it of course has spoilers for the first series.

I feel like I’ve massively broken my rule and potentially ruined the covenant series by the same author. My issue is that I did not know that this series was a spin off from that series and now I feel I know in short what is going to happen in the end of that series because it’s lead to this series. I really really liked this book but I will finish the rest of the covenant series before I progress any more with this one
The main characters are Seth and Josie; Seth is the other Apollyon from the covenant series but the events in that series have led to him being a helper to the God’s. Apollo tasks him in finding a seemingly human girl; Josie is a normal girl attending university when Seth comes from her. That’s when she learns her true identity and also that her life may very well be in danger; the two main characters come together and present a united front when fighting the dangers around them.
There are a lot of secondary characters but I feel at least some of them will have been introduced in the covenant series so I will be rereading and rereviewing this book after I’ve finished that series so that I can correct the order that I seemingly missed out on.
4.5 stars a fantastic read if only I’d read it in the right order! Damn

I really enjoyed this one. This is a Roman gods book. So Seth has to protect Apollo's daughter, Josie. He has to take her to a place in South Dakota. Road trip! Obviously they start having feelings for each other, but Seth has not been a good guy in his past and Josie has no idea about the Roman gods being real and that she might not be the human she thought she was. She always thought her mother was crazy when she told her her dad was a god. This is book one in a series but this series is an offshoot of another series. I may continue this one or a may go back to the other one first. I do enjoy this author. I think I have only not liked one of her books.

Oh Seth - how much I missed you!
What a great read! The sense of humour in this book left me with a permanent smirk on my face while reading it and then had me laughing out loud in some bits. Yet again Jennifer L. Armentrout has produced a fantastic book with great pace and characters you secretly wish were your friends in real life.
I loved seeing old characters of Covenant series but also being introduced to new characters like Josie. I have to say I felt for her in the beginning as she had to fill some VERY large shoes left by Alex but I think by the end of the book she does a great job of holding her own.
I obviously miss Alex but this is not what the book is about.
Loved this story - could not put it down!
Definitely will be reading the rest of this series.
