This book was very fun. I love these monster girls and their unique powers. I love enemies-to-wait-what-is-this-feeling-so-sudden-and-new.

I sort of wanted a proper reunion at the end, but I suppose it tracks. I also think the book is mistitled but that's okay.

I really enjoyed The Midnight Girls and am bummed that it is only a standalone because I want more of these characters! There was so much to love: the dynamics of the three witches, the rivalry (turned to lovers...), the historical Polish backdrop, and the magic. Personally, I felt this read a little on the younger YA side - everything from the rivalry and romance to the politics was a little on the surface side of things, so the reason it isn't a 5 star rating for me is that I wish those things had a bit more depth to them.

Romance is best part of this book and there is plenty of that because plot isn't much. Overall entertaining read.

The plot feels a little contrived but the characters are lovable. Also everyone is gay 🌈.

If you like stabby and desperately lonely monster girls, you're in the right place. If not, consider giving it a chance anyways. I sincerely loved this book. However parts were a bit clunky and I felt like it could have done with a bit less repetition. Will still be going back to read Jasinska's prior novel.
