After this trilogy I am never reading suspense/thrillers/mystery. No sir! I need time to process.
Unbelievable
Do not second guess reading this book or not. Just read it!! It's most definitely a "must read" in my opinion. Trust me, this is one that will keep you guessing and highly entertained throughout the entire thing. Keep in mind this is a trilogy, so you've been forewarned. Just know that you won't regret it and won't be able to put it down either. It literally leaves you craving for more, but in a good way.

This is definitely a worthy sequel to "Nocte." We recieve more questions than answers and the end of this novel...well, I'll just say the end of "Nocte" was a blessing compared to it. It is one of the most confusing and mesmerizing reads I've stumbled across, and I congratulate the author on pulling it off. It classified as a page turner, yet I tried to slow myself down so I wouldn't finish it quickly. Still, I managed to finish this in under a day.

I honestly don't know what to say about this book I'm still processing it all ...... What I can say however is if you thought the first book was a mindfuck that was more of a mind 'foreplay' compared to this one I don't think I've ever truly read a book that took all I think I know is happening and crumple it all up in a ball stand in it run over it with a car and then set it on fire for good measure ...... Countless of times lol just when you think you have an idea of what's happening in this book you find out your wrong! Go into this book with your mind wide open and believe me you still come out thinking WTF just happened ??? The book alone deserves 5 stars for keeping me guessing so much and having every guess completely wrong ! Never mind the character depths Courtney Cole achieves in these books .While readings this book I couldn't help think is she going crazy or is somthing bigger at play I really felt for calla , her frustration , her fear her sadness and confusion I felt it all , this book is a diamond in the rough all though it completely knocks you out leaving you thinking WTF did I just read you can't help but want more , ever question that's answered just leaves another question to be answered ....... If your considering reading this book and I haven't convinced you to do so please do ..... Let this book take your mind on a journey buckle up and just enjoy the mind fuck ride that it is
“Run, little mouse. The hawk is coming, and you’re going to get eaten.”
Man !, this really know how to play with your mind.
Seriously guys, I'm a mess right now

It was so good !! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
Again I can say that this reading is crazy, they had said to me that was like Mara Dyer style (trilogy which I love), but I do not seem to be as well, in fact I think that this book is a thousand times crazier than anyone I have read before .
I think this trilogy deserves many more readers!. It's so original, without arguing it has a very intelligent writing, where you never imagine what will happen next , I mean, NEVER!

The incorporation of the new characters, has been brilliant since they have contributed much to the plot! And I've loved one more time the landscapes where history elapses, which is in England, with the rainy and cold weather makes it even more creepy at times
“Dear Reader, Dante Alighieri said, in his Inferno: "Do not be afraid; our fate cannot be taken from us; it is a gift.” Dante lied. Our fate must be worked for. It must be paid for. With tears. With blood. With everything we have. And it is not until the end, the very end, that we will know if it was worth it.”
Almost made me a heart attack, to that end so unexpected !!

Well , Courtney Cole has made me a fann and now , I want to buy all her books lol , in fact I think it's a brilliant writer, really, not many have the talent to keep you engaged with the story without getting bored for a second, leaving you on the edge of seat almost the entire book#Applause
So , I can be here and talk about how wonderful it was this book for me, but I can not without spoilers!, Again highly I recommend this trilogy especially for lovers of mystery, romance and unexpected endings ! :)
Have you ever picked up a book and utterly been at a loss for words?! Well, this is how I feel after reading Verum, the second book in the Nocte Trilogy. I enjoy Courtney Cole's books but this series has blown my mind. This review will be spoiler free because quite honestly, I don't have answers. All the questions I had in Nocte and Verum are answered in riddles or with more questions. Both books leave you with a severe book hangover.
Verum starts directly after the ending of Nocte which leaves Calla asking Dare to answer her one burning question but Dare can't answer it. Dare tells her, "You have to help me, Calla. Help me save you." Dare takes Caall back to Whitley, their family estate for the answers. Whitley is full of secrets, beyond eerie and causes Calla to question everything in her life including her relationship with Dare.
Reading this book was absolutely exhausting in the best possible way. I would catch myself going back and rereading to make sure I didn't miss anything or taking a minute to try to figure out the riddles Courtney Cole spun in her character's dialogue. You go through the book feeling a bit lost because you so desperately want to help Calla. I found myself having anxiety, confusion and fear which seems to be the norm for Calla.
There would be a moment or two when you thought you were going to get all of the answers and then you found yourself being pushed in a different direction in the story. I felt like I was lost in a complex maze and I'm a little fearful to see how this series is going to end. Courtney Cole's writing is brilliant and haunting. You feel like you are deep inside the mind of a person who is only holding onto their sanity by a thread and at times seems downright insane.
All I can say for Verum and this series is that it is not for the faint of heart….enter at your own risk!

5 CRAZY STARS!!!
Verum by Courtney Cole is the second book in the Nocte trilogy. Each book follows the preceding book and cannot be read as stand-alones. THE BOOKS MUST BE READ IN ORDER.
Verum picks up where Nocte left off. Calla is starting to regain her memories and goes with Dare to Whitney in England to visit her mother's family, a family she didn't know about until recently. She goes there to get answers, but her time there only causes more confusion, more doubt, and more terror within her. She starts seeing things that appear one minute and are gone the next. Everyone is keeping secrets, and no one will give her answers. But Calla soon realizes that maybe finding out the truth is worse than knowing a lie.
This.
Book.
I can't even express how much frustration, yet love it produces in me. I absolutely LOVE Nocte, the first book, and Verum did not disappoint! I am utterly speechless as to how fantastic and amazing this sequel is.
Components of mystery, love, and psychology mix together beautifully to create this amazing, enticing, and down-right addicting book! The Nocte trilogy is officially my new obsession!
Calla's journey becomes more intriguing and addicting as the book progresses. As she finds an answer to one question, ten more questions arise as the answers she finds make Calla more confused. As the reader, I was EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED because I could relate to Calla's frustration. When reading this series, you know nothing. Everything you know is everything that Calla knows, which is close to nothing in the long run. As the book progressed, I could definitely feel the frustration rising within me, which enforced me to keep reading to find out more! I needed answers! Then and now!!! But alas, Courtney cruelly ended the book at a cliffhanger at the most CRITICAL MOMENT OF THE ENTIRE BOOK. I mean, come on! Be kind to all the feels I'm having. My heart can only take so much, Courtney.
Courtney does an AMAZING AND FANTASTIC job at keeping us readers on our toes. She keeps us in the dark and continues to frustrate us with those cliffhangers she has a tendency of having! But, Verum is just as fantastic as Nocte. I can't wait to read more and discover how Calla and Dare's stories will unfold. This is a definite must-read book series that I HIGHLY recommend.
What are you waiting for?!
