I didn't like this book as much as the first one. The writing seemed sloppy and it was quite confusing at times. I have a feeling that the author may have been going for an unreliable narrator kind of vibe but it just became a but much to read about.
**Spoilers**

Like everything wasn't real and then it was and then it wasn't.....but maybe that's just part of the intrigue? I'm not sure but I was mostly reading it in the hope that it would get better but it didn't really pull off what it was trying to do. Some of the paragraphs were formatted like poems but it didn't really add anything to the story and it felt like a 'line filler' to make the book longer.

I gave it four because of the cliffhanger. I need answers!

“Run, little mouse. The hawk is coming, and you’re going to get eaten.”

Man !, this really know how to play with your mind.

Seriously guys, I'm a mess right now

It was so good !! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

Again I can say that this reading is crazy, they had said to me that was like Mara Dyer style (trilogy which I love), but I do not seem to be as well, in fact I think that this book is a thousand times crazier than anyone I have read before .

I think this trilogy deserves many more readers!. It's so original, without arguing it has a very intelligent writing, where you never imagine what will happen next , I mean, NEVER!

The incorporation of the new characters, has been brilliant since they have contributed much to the plot! And I've loved one more time the landscapes where history elapses, which is in England, with the rainy and cold weather makes it even more creepy at times

“Dear Reader, Dante Alighieri said, in his Inferno: "Do not be afraid; our fate cannot be taken from us; it is a gift.” Dante lied. Our fate must be worked for. It must be paid for. With tears. With blood. With everything we have. And it is not until the end, the very end, that we will know if it was worth it.”

Almost made me a heart attack, to that end so unexpected !!

Well , Courtney Cole has made me a fann and now , I want to buy all her books lol , in fact I think it's a brilliant writer, really, not many have the talent to keep you engaged with the story without getting bored for a second, leaving you on the edge of seat almost the entire book#Applause

So , I can be here and talk about how wonderful it was this book for me, but I can not without spoilers!, Again highly I recommend this trilogy especially for lovers of mystery, romance and unexpected endings ! :)

:-( Next book please... I'm dying here..

She almost lost me with this one, but she pulled it back together with the last couple pages. I'm still not sure I like where this is going.... hopefully the last one will be out VERY soon!

What oh what did I just read? This has been some clever mind trickery, where I basically didn't quite know what was happening but felt that I had some facts established. But no, those facts weren't facts, it was a spooky mist of deception.

Dare brings Calla to their shared family estate in England to heal and recover from the truth of her losses. The family estate however is not a place of peace and restoration. Her grandmother is aloof and cold, the housekeeper is plain odd and Dare is not himself. Calla feels watched, unsettled and increasingly confused (I'm with you, Calla!).

I thoroughly enjoyed being in the dark in this book because reading in the moment was just so interesting. It is a fast pace and I was definitely hooked. This book had the mother of all endings so once again I'm grateful to be able to run straight into Initium.

Ahh this book was so amazing!! I cannot wait for the third book. I just hate how in this book they go to England where her family is supposed to be but then it is just full of lies and secrets. At the end the book just ends right before Finn is supposed to say something about Dare but then he just trails off! What happened to Dare?! Why did her dad die? In the first book he is there with her and Dare discussing about what they should do and then we she starts writing letters to him to say that he is okay, they never get sent, so did her whole family know about ti because I am so confused. And then when Olivia i constantly visiting Calla during the day and she wakes up in the bathtub with Dare right next to her and she is like so confused and wants to know what happened, I'm like, What is your problem Olivia, you left him and killed yourself, not the other way around. So now I just hope that Dare isn't dead and that all will be right with the world!!!!...?????

Why that cliffhanger? Why that little information given? I'm wondering if this book was even necessary. The plot didn't develop a lot, and between the predictable things and the WTF moments... I don't know what to think. But it reads pretty fast, which is always a great plus.

DARE?!?!??

Courtney....
stop playing with my head
stop playing with my feelings

what just happened?!

These books are twisted in ways you can't even imagine. Every time I think I know whats going on, I'm wrong. Or, worse, I'm sort of right. I can't believe I have to wait for the next one! You just don't know whats real in these books. Except the pain; the pain is real.
