there is nothing more glorious than reading this volume in the wake of the fan translation and finally, finally understanding parts of the plot i couldn’t grasp because of the mtl. i will never stop thinking about the inherent homoeroticism of combing your beloved’s hair by the way. ranwan… oh you will always have my heart in your beautiful palms.

After the nice little respite of Volume 4, our boys are back to their mystery-solving antics... and their voyeurism. Mo Ran proves once again that he is sometimes kinda smart but usually just really, really dumb. Chu Wanning begins to thaw a little.

I can't give a full review of this or #4 because I absolutely DEVOURED these books over the weekend and I'm rushing full steam ahead into #6. I'm going to run out of content before the next volume comes out...

AFTER 5 BOOKS, MY DREAMS HAVE COME THRU!! I SCREAMED, CRIED, CHEERED AND WAS LIKE HALLELUJAH!!! My babies are growing 🥺🥺 (also i appreciate the raw, honest way the author writes Mo ran’s love & desires. Love isn’t all lalala! sometimes it’s dangerous, and possessive and hot and that’s just the truth)
