I feel like the plot is getting more complicated than it has to be. I'm feeling kind of meh on it, but it had its moments.

that love confession was everything. I can't get over it.

Rating goes down since I felt this was too short, with little Mo Ran and Chu Wanning in it. In this volume we have the culmination (?) of the arc (I believe, not too sure) which I felt confused over it due to so many new and similar names of certain characters - Mo Ran and Chu Wanning were bystanders so I didn't felt compelled over the plot.

Even Mo Ran and Chu Wanning's fleeting interactions felt a bit flat to me, especially considering the previous book and how that was basically the whole book.

This book does end in a massive cliffhanger
Mo Ran confesses to Chu Wanning, Chu Wanning kinda made it seem he shares the feelings. However, Mo Ran is filled with remorse and regret at how he treated Chu Wanning in his previous life and how he lost on so much. So we will see how it will go from now on.
Can't believe we gotta wait another 3/4 months for the next, especially since this one was just over 300 pages which is way too short.

I read for the first until 3rd book. The second time I had to read all again, but it took me a few weeks to read 1st book until 5th. It’s a long novel, if you read at once you’ll got sick of it. If you take breaks, you’ll forgot what’s going on.

The last book, where the end is. Being honest, it’s one of a few books where they shows all the plots without forgetting one thing behind. The 4th book drives you crazy, and this one gives you back your sense of justice.
(With all they got through, it could have a way better end!)

About Xue Meng side chapters: not sure what to say…. funny + boring. He’s one of my favorite, and the sides just make him a frivolous guy, with no relevant content to his final development.
He turned to a sect leader, why not show his as a serious and mature person after all he got through?

But the book ends the way it should be, with a beautiful scene in the end, so it’s fine.

I didn't pull as many quotes from this book because it's dripping with drama and plot. To summarize the events,
Mo Ran puts on his costume and breaks up the wedding between Song Qiutong and Nangong Si, and reveals that Ye Wangxi is a woman.

Immediately following these events we get to what I affectionately refer to as 'where the plot starts in 2ha':
Nangong Liu is revealed to have sacrifced his wife's heart, Rong Yan, in exchange for his holy weapon. Chu Wanning, at 15, discovered it and let him go, leaving the Rufeng sect to join Sisheng Peak.

Nangong Liu had killed his shizun, Luo Fenghua, to take back over the Rufeng sect two years after Luo Fenghua staged a coup against Nangong Liu's younger brother (very evil - plucked enough eyes to fill 3 carriages), Nangong Xu, who had stolen the ring that grants the title of sect leader after their father passed of a qi deviation.

Xu Shuanglin, Ye Wangxi's foster father, turns out to be Nangong Xu, and opens a Space Gate (Not quite a Space-Time Gate of Life and Death) to bring back Luo Fenghua's body. Nangong Liu cannibalizes it in the hopes of curing the moonlight curse put on him, and after setting Apocalyptic fire to the Rufeng Sect, they exit stage, with Luo Fenghua's spirit core.

After all of that, Mo Ran and Chu Wanning take 49 refugees from the inferno to Flying Flower Isle where they end up selling spiritual haitang flowers and butterflies to Third Lady Sun in order to pay for the refugees to stay.
Mo Ran discovers the brocade pouch containing their entwined hair from back in Butterfly Town when Chu Wanning and him got married.
Mo Ran pulls out all the Aladdin moves and brings Chu Wanning up on to his sword (not that sword) with the intention of helping him get over his fear of heights, but ends up confessing.

Seeing Mo Ran silent, Chu Wanning felt all the more lost and scattered. He dipped his head. "I'm not good-looking."
Mo Ran stared.
"Not as good-looking as you." As Chu Wanning muttered quietly, he suddenly felt a warm hand brush over his cheek. He heard Mo Ran sigh, gentler than the moonlight.
"Do me a favor -- look into my eyes?"
"Your eyes?" Chu Wanning asked, confused.
Mo Ran's gaze was warm and mild. In his irises was reflected the image of a man in white robes. "Do you see him?" he said. "The most beautiful person in the whole world."
