This was really dark and bleak, but ultimately an unfortunately realistic portrayal of sexual assault and its fallout. I REALLY LOVED that Emma was initially portrayed as an unsympathetic, shallow, mean girl - because it really highlights the fact that nice or mean or good or bad- no one deserves to be raped. It was ultimately unsatisfying (but that's what made it so realistic and relatable).

Really really dark and vivid, this book is pretty descriptive about the sexual assault - so definitely be aware of that going into it.
