Why haven't I read this before? I think it's because when I see a movie I like I don't want to read the book it's based on after

Which is a HUGE mistake!

I loved how the writer didn't try real hard to be good or poetic or whatever, it was just simple and straight-forward writing style and I'm in love with it

Good quick read, some interesting things but could have been better. Some ideas probably would have been more unique in '99...

Amazing book. Made me cry at the end when I realized that I finished the book. Reading it felt like I was together with Charlie? If that makes sense. And I was sad when it finished. Also the letter from him in the future was also what made me cry too. Can’t say that I fully related with him, but as a shy person, this book meant a lot to me. There were also a lot of quotes in the book that heavily resonated with me icl. Can’t wait to watch the movie someday too :)

No wonder his favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird. It’s sad in an empty ordinary, way.

I keep accidentally deleting my review of this book somehow so I will say just this: It's good. It took me a bit to get used to Chbosky's writing but the characters feel real which is rare to find. I didn't want it to end and still feel connected to it in a special way. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

DNF. This felt weird to read. If I read it back in the day, I'm sure I would have liked it better. But seen through a 2024 lens, I'm not a fan.
