I found myself wanting to see Cella with Beatrix more than Cella with Isolde.

Got an ARC from the author for an honest review! Finally got a chance to read it and thoroughly enjoyed it. While it was fast paced I enjoyed the relationship between Calla and Isolde! Great retelling of a fairytale with a vampire twist and an ending that was appreciated and unexpected!

(Arc copy received from the author!)
Calla Chase hates vampires. So much that she made hunting them a day time job. But when her mother kills one of the vampires, it’s Calla who has to pay the price. In a rather unusual fashion. The price for her mother’s safety is moving in with vampire Isolde and pretend to be her girlfriend in the hope to create an alliance between hunters and vampires.
Calla is disgusted by this and can think of no fate worse than being close to a vampire.
But the more time she spends with Isolde in her big house, something shifts. Perhaps Isolde isn’t so bad after all. Calla starts noticing things. Like how beautiful Isolde is. How smart and funny she is. Perhaps this fake alliance between vampires and hunters aren’t so fake after all. Calla certainly begins to fall!
What a fun time this was! I highly enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast vibes, and I enjoyed the description of Isolde’s house. I loved the banter and natural chemistry between Calla and Isolde. The steamy scenes were very good and the plot propelled me forward and made this a quick and easy read. I definitely had a good time reading this sapphic vampire spin on Beauty and The Beast, and I am so happy the author gifted me with an arc copy!
This is the first book I’m reading by this author, but it certainly won’t be the last, and I highly recommend this book if you love vampires, Beauty and the Beast retellings, fake dating, forced proximity, enemies to lovers and delicious banter between the two main characters!

Overall was a nice book. However, I felt like their relationship could of been developed more. It felt like one page they were enemies, then the next they were together. Also the ending was not my favorite. For these reasons, I rate the book 3 stars, instead of 5.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Very entertaining and fast-paced read. I enjoyed the sass and banter between Calla and Isolde and how their relationship progressed beyond the initial prejudice. There was an interesting mystery that keeps the reader questioning and wondering almost until the very end.
It also didn't have the typical, predictable ending one might expect from a story like this which was another pleasant surprise.
