I am a filthy, filthy rotten liar. I never read this book, and I'm too lazy to figure out how to delete it. If you are reading this expecting a hearty review, I'm sorry to disappoint. Shame on me. Shame.

Though titled "Robot Dreams", many, if not most of the stories were not about robots. However, they were good stories.

Another masterpiece by the Father of the genre. I really cant say much, i will just try to write down some words for my fav short stories.

First place is really difficult, since my alltime favorite was "The last Question" but since i read "The ugly little boy" something inside of me just broke. I will keep though LQ first since its meaning for me holds a great deal. Ugly little boy --almost like King Kong's story, Man is not only greedy but a curious creature, and he can do anything in order to feed this curiosity. Amazing shot story!
I would say these two, were the highlights for me in this series.
Other than that, Little lost Robot, Robot Dreams, Hostess, Sally, The Martian Way. These short stories were just extraordinary!

Overall it's a great collection. Undoubtedly anyone reading this book will feel like some, if not many of the stories were worthy of omission, but I suspect that no two people will arrive at the same list. Worth your time to read and reread.

A very well curated collection of Asimov's short stories through the years. There's a lot of range here and it shows the many facets of this sci-fi master - his grasp of science but also his imagination and originality. Many of the stories read like thought exercises, i.e exploring certain concepts and ideas in a contained setting, the characters only serving to highlight the central notion, and I must admit I liked these the best. For example, "Strikebreaker" and "Does a Bee Care?". Out of the longer stories, "The Martian Way" was great.

Despite the title, the book is actually not primarily a robot book. Sure, there are robot stories (and the titular one is really good albeit short), but this is really more a collection of Asimov's science fiction. As I was reading it, I'd start a story and think for a few pages that I wasn't going to be enjoying it. But inevitably, I'd finish it and have a smile on my face, just impressed by the skillful and impactful way Asimov created the story. The Martian Way and the Ugly Boy both are ones that I'll keep in mind for a long time I think.
