My favorite line was "im not fearless, I'm just afraid of different things than most people."
Overall it was a fast moving story but there wasn't as much action as there were deaths to move the story along and repetition in both plot points and verbiage. I very much liked the narrator for the audio book and was surprised and pleased that it was the author doing the narration. I also appreciated the notes about what was real history and what was fiction. I appreciate that in a historical fiction book if they pull stories from reality. I also liked the list of reference material and other stories that the author pulled from and used as inspiration.

Honestly I thought this book was decent. It just definitely wasn’t for me. I didn’t much care for the characters or the drama and I felt well removed from the story. I wasn’t invested and I didn’t feel like the main character was well developed either or any of them for that matter. Fortunately it was a quick read.

CWs: suicide, murder
Hang the Moon is a really beautifully written piece of historical fiction, but I knew it would be with Walls authoring it. There were aspects of the plot I had trouble caring about, but those were few and far between. If you're up for a highly emotional, plot-driven book to tug at your heart and keep your attention, this one's for you.
