Great nonfiction with fairies and mention of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!
Written a bit like a school report (narrative non-fiction, but in a very...straightforward, point-by-point way) and for a younger audience than I thought based on the cover, but enjoyable to some degree for anyone interested in the subject. After reading "Among Others", I was in the mood for fairies, and felt like visiting these photos and their story, and that was the main reason I read this all the way through.
While this wasn't super enjoyable for me as an adult, I think the style will appeal to some kids and offer a comfortable entry point for non-fiction reading.

Whether you believe in fairies or not, pick up this lovely (quick) read. I am so glad that my friend, Anne, put this book in my hands as I was completely unaware of the story of Elsie, Frances and their fairies. Photos and drawings are perfect and necessary that are included in the book and I'm going to look into other books & articles that recorded their claims from this particular time as well. Who believes that the author & creator of Sherlock Holmes was such a fairy fan? Overall, charming.
