A sweet and predictable story about the angels, miracles and the power of faith.

Since the 1600s, every 25 years an angel visits the chandler in a tiny Cotswold village, and touches a candle. Whoever receives the candle and prays over it before Christmas receives their wish.

In 1864, the aging chandler and his wife await the angel. But this year, so many people need a miracle, including the chandler's family. Now in his 70's, he won't survive another 25 years for the next visitation, and he has no heirs to continue the candle-making business. Is this the end of the Christmas candles?

A very quick, delightful read. I read it in less than an hour while drinking coffee and enjoying my children's unexpected sleep-in. A great book for building up your Christmas spirit.

This book was short and sweet. It ended abruptly though and I was kind of thrown off by it. I felt like maybe another sentence or two would have tied it all together.

My biggest complaint is the way the characters talked to each other. The words they used didn't fit with the time period, and that kind of ruined it for me.

But the story itself was sweet and spoke to what Christmas should be about.

Quick little Christmas story that is also in movie theaters this season. I enjoyed the book, but think in this case, the movie may be even better!

This is the kind of book you want to read at Christmastime. It was a typical Christmas story, but it inspired me and gave me hope. Everyone needs a boost in their faith once in a while and this was a story of God's ongoing love for us. The characters were lovable, especially Bea and Edward. I loved how they passed on the Christmas Candle gift.

I'm a sucker for a good Christmas novella. This one is sweet and heart-warming. And easy to read in one sitting.
