Best of it's series. But there were just too many deaths of very important people. *SOB* :( :( :(

I absolutely LOVED this series!!!!! The twist at the end was totally unexpected, and while is was very sad, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Finally - many years after reading the first four books, I finally sucked it up and downloaded the audio version of book five so I could cross this series off my list. Things go a little crazy in this book, but most of it was pretty predictable. I was disappointed with the end and I found Vlad to be a frustrating main character. But, now I've finally finished!

Twelfth Grade Kills is what I have come to expect from the Vlad Tod series - an enjoyable and easy read. While the darkest of the five novels, it isn't without its fun moments. As Vlad must face his future as the Pravus and what it means for humankind as well as vampirekind, he remains at heart a teenage boy who struggles to find the balance between asking for help and striking out on one's own. It is this conflict which continues to be a joy to read and what makes it immensely easy to relate to Vlad. He knows right from wrong and is just trying to stay on the right path, as set forth for him by his parents, Nelly and Otis and his best friend, Henry.

While somewhat predictable, there are enough interesting twists and misplaced clues to throw off detection of the final resolution. Simply put, it would be difficult to determine an alternative ending to Vlad's story, nor do I want to do so. He found a way to make everything work in his favor. Is there collateral damage? Yes, but it had to be that way to be even remotely true to form. This results in a satisfactory conclusion to Vlad's story, while hinting at possible future offshoots.

I've enjoyed my time with Vlad and Henry, Otis and Nelly and the entire cast of characters from Bathory. This is a series I will continue to recommend to others, especially fans of YA and vampires. Now, I am interested to see if anything comes of the mysterious final sentence of the novel!

The final book in The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. Vlad's time is running out. He only has weeks to present his supposedly dead father alive to the council of vampires or face his own death. How do you find a dead man? Or is he dead? Then there is the Pravus prophecy to worry about. Is Vlad the Pravus that will enslave mankind? There is also his best friend who wants to kill him, and if that's not enough, he has girl problems with both Snow and Meredith. Should he even worry about graduation? A wonderful end to a great series.

I have to admit that I was not too crazy about some aspects of the book (mostly in terms of the father just coming back as some weird psycho vampire Darth Vader and the fact that it feels like the series only ended because Vlad left high school).

But it's pretty impossible not to love Vlad, Otis, and the world of vampires and slayers Heather Brewer has created.

Twelfth Grade Kills was the best book of the series...However, I didn't like the ending...Vlad was at graduation, and sitting next to Snow during the ceremony...Yes, Snow became a vampire..and her eyes did turn an iridescent green..But Snow's eyes turning green was the end of the chapter and the end of the book..I also want to know what happens to Vlad, Snow, Henry, and Joss after high school..This ending suggests that there needs to be a 6th book, even though this is the last book in the series...

I had to do some research to find out if Heather Brewer wrote a 6th book..In September of 2011, a book called "The Slayer Chronicles" is coming out..This book discusses the Slayer Society and what happens between school years to Vlad, Joss, and the others in the book...Maybe this will fulfill my need to know what happens to the characters of the book after graduation, especially to Snow because her eyes turn green..

I was really bummed by one thing that happened at the very end, but overall a solid finale to a great series.
