A ridiculously fast re-read, done mostly to keep my mind of a building headache. It's done well enough. I found the story interesting. I just remained amazed that Paige could be so naive. Mistake after mistake, and the classic romantic "throw your rescuer out on his heels" mistake. Still, maybe small town living and thinking help explain some of that.

I like Paige more now? I wish there had been more/better development of Paige and Lucas. Also, how happy am I that there is diversity! I also really like Savannah--Armstrong does a great job at capturing that teenage turmoil and the whole supernatural superiority thing very well.

I was really hoping that this book would return to the good parts of the first book in the series, but no such luck. I watched half of one episode of Charmed once (giving up when they introduced a "goose that lays golden eggs" which was actually a duck), and this book and the previous one remind me far too much of that show. Not in a good way.

What I thought of this book overall (read only this section if you do not want to be spoiled) : Overall I rather enjoyed reading this book!

When I first picked up this book I was confused why the point of view changed suddenly to Paige. I do enjoy Paige being the main character in this book. I hate/love that the point of view changed because we learned more about the witches in the Coven.

I do like Kelley Armstrong's writing style when she talks to the reader directly. The whole beginning of the book was a lot of set up and I felt that it was quite boring. I did stick with this book though because I knew it was gonna get better.

The whole relationship between Paige and Savannah is a very strong one. It did bug me for the majority of the story how
Paige could hardly control Savannah and there were numerous times when she was giving her bad parenting. I do understand the fact that raising a child is never easy and parents always have their struggles. I did like how Savannah figured out that Lucas likes Paige.
I really do not like Savannah that much her attitude, thoughts, and actions make me really frustrated with her.

I felt the whole custody battle for Savannah was a complete and ultimate joke. Leah is selfish and crazy. I loved the part when
" "My client does not wish to submit to DNA testing." "No DNA, no case," Cary said. Sandford glared at me. "Checkmate," I said. And grinned.
The part when
Cary dies by Leah is fricking awesome.

The way Lucas Cortez was introduced was pretty cool. I like what Paige is thinking when he first meets him
"Oh, did I mention he was wearing a suit? On a Saturday? Wonderful. Just what I needed. A Jehovah's Witness."
I really like Lucas he is such an awesome guy. I thought it was so nice of him to
rescue Paige from the police station. I like Paige's nickname for him "Counselor". I am really interested in seeing what the Cabals are like because I have a feeling the we will encounter them in the future books.

The sex scene between Lucas and Paige was a really neat scene. I did love this part a lot and I do have it bookmarked permanently in my book. I also read this part twice. It was so cool how they were both using there own powers to aid them, which I thought was so cool. The description made it feel like you where there and I love that even though it was a little uncomfortable. Some things I did not like were that I didn't feel Paige was developing feelings for Cortez and I was a little surprised when she kissed him first. I felt that this scene was kinda thrown in there, which did bug me a little bit. I also enjoyed the morning after scene in the bathroom I thought it was sweet. And as Paige says, no "morning after" awkwardness.

The ending of the book was super intense my highlights were
finding out Victoria told Nast about Savannah's menses(which I had a feeling that she did), Lucas's brother's showing up and demanding Paige's death, Friesen attempting to rape Paige (that part by the way was super intense and I was so angry when Paige didn't kill him when she had the chance), Standford dieing, Savannah trying to raise her mom from the dead, Cortez finding Paige and Savannah, Leah's death by Paige, and Paige pretending to be Savannah's mom

I know a lot of people say this is the best book in the series, but I guess witches and sorcerers are just not my thing. Lucas and Paige were just not good replacements for Elena and Clay for me. I am really interested in seeing where this story line goes in the next installment, though!

I must admit that while reading Stolen, the second book of this series, I didn't exactly like Paige. She seemed annoying at first, probably because she was young and impulsive. Then we read about her in Dime Store Magic and we see a mature Paige, one that isn't so impulsive. Also, I loved how she wants to help witches regain their full powers. It is possible that Savannah helped her mature, besides the things that happened in the previous book and that Paige witnessed. All I know is that I liked the change.

Her knight in shinning armor is Lucas Cortez, lawyer and sorcerer, son of one of the most important man in the supernatural world. I liked that some of Paige's beliefs were challenged by this relationship. As we learned before, witches and sorcerers are enemies and hate each other, each thinking the others are beneath them. Yes, Paige and Lucas do have some rough moments and they butt heads a time or two, but in the end they fall in love and overcome their differences. I actually loved Lucas. He was so patient and he helped Paige get out of some really difficult situations in the beginning of the book, even though she did her best to keep him away from her.

I was sad that Adam didn't appear more :( I know it wasn't his story, but still.. Other than that tinny little detail, I can say I loved this book. Very fast-paced, full of suspense, romance, action, humor. Oh, and some sarcasm. I do love a sarcastic character.

So much more appealing to me than Bitten, because this is a heroine I can care about. Not my favorite entry in the urban fantasy lists, but solid and entertaining.

I read this originally and just "re-read" the audio version. Still love this series and the characters. Time to go through the rest of them! Really love Paige and Lucas.

This is the first Otherworld book narrated by Paige, and it also introduces Lucas. They are my favourite characters in this series so it remains a fave.

As this is the third book in the Women of the Otherworld series, I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit more than the first two. Hopefully this trend continues!! The character of Paige resembles my own in some aspects, which I find highly enjoyable. I hope to read more about Paige in the future of the series!
