I want to give this a 4.5 rating.

It kept me very intrigued. Great details given felt like I was watching a movie .. gave me law and order vibes.

Great ending.

Good mystery book option. It felt like watching a cop show. I knew they'd get the bad guy, and knew who it was going to be most of the time, but still enjoyed the experience. I liked the main detective Harriet Foster and would probably read the next the series

This one is a tough 3 stars, so you may end up liking it.

I’m giving it 3 stars only because there are many things that would have made this book a lot better, which is a bit disappointing. I don’t want to add any spoilers, but what’s the point of Lonergan’s character?

I don’t know. You may like it, but I think there are a lot of things that could’ve improved the book.

This book was a little slow to start off, but in the middle it picked up more, while the ending felt anticlimactic, and fell a little flat for me.

I think if the chapters had been labeled with who's POV it was instead of starting out the chapters and then saying who the POV is from, might have helped me enjoy this book more. I found myself having to reread some of the first few paragraphs of the chapters when the POV switched to help remind myself which character it was in.

Ugh. Lonergan is all ew and ick. Amelia is a nutter and I guessed early on that she had a bigger role. Foster and Li are a good match. As for the ending, I prefer closure over an obvious nod to the next book... whenever that is.
