I really have no complaints. It's a great easy read and I would've loved it when I was younger. It is pretty creepy for a children's book but that keeps it interesting for older readers. Neil has some great quotes in the interview section of this book as well.

توقعت أن تعجبني بشدة فقد تكون شبيهة بصاحب الظل الطويل أو تكون اللغة رائعة بقدر لغة جين وبستر فهي أيضا من منشورات دار تكون ولكن لا هي موجهة للأطفال فحسب .

Esta es una de esas historias que resultan entrañables y tiernas aunque por el camino son duras y terroríficas. No quiero profundizar en detalle en lo que sucede en la trama por si leéis este libro cómo yo (sin saber nada sobre él y sin haber visto la película con anterioridad).
Esta es la historia de Coraline, una niña que se muda con sus padres a un nuevo hogar dónde vivirá una aventura de lo más inusual. Esta no es una niña cualquiera, Coraline siente devoción por descubrir lugares nuevos y se divierte jugando a ser exploradora. En todo momento el autor invoca una sensación de soledad alrededor de este personaje que me ha conmovido.
Lo cierto es que no entiendo porque este libro está dirigido a un público infantil / adolescente. Es una lectura dura, que tiene momentos muy inquietantes en los que se me ha puesto la piel de gallina en más de una ocasión. Las situaciones narradas resultan escalofriantes y sin duda es uno de los libros más perturbadores que he leído en mi trayectoria lectora.
También tengo que decir que no suelo leer nada de terror más allá de algún thriller pero sin duda este ha llegado a provocarme intranquilidad durante su lectura. La fuerza y coraje de la protagonista es una de las cosas más destacables así como su templanza para enfrentar esta turbia situación.
Estoy muy contenta de haberle dado una oportunidad a esta novela, me ha sorprendido enormemente pues no esperaba en absoluto lo que he encontrado entre sus páginas. He empatizado muchísimo con la protagonista, he amado las pequeñas descripciones de Gaiman y sus maravillosas creaciones de escenarios paranormales que cada vez me tienen más y más atrapada.

This is one of those stories that are tender although on the way they are hard and terrifying. I don't want to tell you details of what happens in the plot in case you read this book like me (without knowing anything about it and without having seen the film before).
This is the story of Coraline, a girl who moves with her parents to a new home where she will live a most unusual adventure. This is not just any girl, Coraline is devoted to discovering new places and she has fun playing at being an explorer. At all times the author invokes a feeling of loneliness around this character that has moved me.
The truth is that I don’t understand why this book is aimed at a child / adolescent audience. It is a hard read, which has very disturbing moments. The situations narrated are chilling and it’s undoubtedly one of the most disturbing books I have read in my reading career.
I also have to say that I don't usually read any horror beyond a thriller, but without a doubt this has caused me uneasiness during its reading. The strength and courage of the protagonist is one of the most remarkable things as well as her temperance to face this murky situation.
I am very happy to have given this novel a chance, it has surprised me enormously because I didn’t expect at all what I have found among its pages. I have empathized a lot with the protagonist, I have loved the small descriptions of Gaiman and his wonderful creations of paranormal scenes that increasingly have me more and more trapped.

The perfect amount of disturbing and creepy for a children's book. I love Coraline and her quick wittedness. She is brave and smart!
A message I took from this book in the perspective of a child reading it is that sometimes you wish you had a different family, but in reality you would miss your real family very much if that happened. Ask Kevin McCallister!

I’d been wanting to read something to get me into the Halloween spirit this year when I looked through to my TBR and saw that I hadn’t gotten around to reading Coraline yet. As a child, I never got to read it and I only found out it was book a few years ago.
Even though this is initially for children, it’s still a fun and creepy read. The book is not scary by any means but it does a good job of making you feel unnerved with it’s descriptions and setting. Coraline is a witty and perceptive protagonist and I was really rooting for her in the end.
Overall I enjoyed this book and found it a great children’s novel that will allow them to interact with more “horror” novels that are still appropriate but able to deliver on the creepiness.

No sabia con que me iba a encontrar al leer este libro a pesar de haber visto la película varias veces y ser de mi favorita,por ser un libro supuse que tendría la ventaja de ser un poco diferente y no me equivoque.El libro de Coraline te ofrece la ventaja de observar un mundo similar al tuyo de una forma diferente, a pesar de ser un libro mas que todo infantil me puso a reflexionar varias cosas. Wybie, un personaje que según he leído solo aparece en la película hizo falta por su humor y carisma, una que otra cosas como los nombres de los personajes y detalles acomodados digamos que de una forma diferente es lo que cambia al libro de la adaptación. Para ser honesta me gusto aunque al principio fue bastante aburrido y repetitivo, rutinario y canson y Coraline era una niña insoportable cuando se aburría pero a medida que la historia avanza ella cambia y se vuelve fuerte e increíblemente valiente algo que agradezco. Lo que si me tomo por sorpresa fue el hecho de que Coraline no se dejo engañar en ningún momento por sus otros padres y eso hace que la historia tome un rumbo un poco diferente al igual que el final, eso me permitió valorar el libro y sus ilustraciones increíbles por separado.
