So much happened in this and I felt like the end was a huge info dump that I had to re read to understand and I can’t say I do all the way. Buuuuut other than that I reallllly liked Poppy in this one. Love Casteel…felt bad for him. Loooooved Kieran. Ugh such a good support system. Delano too I want to pet him…respectfully lol.

Definitely my favorite book out of the entire FBAA series. I didn’t find myself bored at all while the other 3 I found myself snoozing through big portions of the book.

Tying the FAF series into FBAA had been perfect and i’m beyond excited for the new one next month!

The way this one was written felt different from the other 3 but in the best way possible. I have such high hopes for the next few books. Waiting for the next ones to be released is going to be killer.

This is by far my favorite book in the From Blood & Ash series yet!
Action? ✔️
Character growth? ✔️
Answers? ✔️
Comedy? ✔️
Spice?
All in all it was a well rounded book and kept me interested throughout. Poppy is seriously such a BADASS MC and I am soooo proud of how far she has come! I loved ASITE and am so excited to see the prequel and this series collide even more.
That being said, questions were answered but now I have even more

Slight spoiler ahead, pre-review rant If you will.

I just want to say that everyone giving it a one star for the moment she's hinted at for 2 whole books is a getting to be ridiculous. There's nothing worth noting in any of your comments when all you write is "fuck this she shouldn't have added it!" Like what about the rest of the book??? Yall really focused on that single chapter?! Which ,spoiler, wasn't nearly as explicit as any other intimate scene she's written??? If anything THAT alone shows how she tried to meet her readers halfway. You didn't want it? That's fine, you read it knowing what was coming for 2 books prior. But also one chapter. That's it and it wasn't explicit but Okay.

Anyways, the story picks up from where crown of gilded bones ended, ofcourse. It was constructed well overall. The plot flowed steadily, we still got the angst, heart warming moments, the more than welcomed banter and a few plot twists throughout the book. Also it's the first book with Casteel's POV and I think that added to the emotion of the book and a bit of understanding in certain situations.
I will say I've always been a fan of the FBAA series so I personally was looking forward to a very spicy joining. Unlike some odd balls in these reviews I was still very pleased with it and how they got there. The book had some fluff spots that probably could have gone without but I expected nothing less when the series went from 4 books to 6.

As for characters:
Poppy: we love a strong, fiercely loyal and wild spirited female character. Poppy continues to deliver here. Without even needing to ask, yes she asks as many questions as before but tbh it's rather charming to me now. There was far too many hard moments that I wished our lovely poppy didn't have to go through but really this whole book was centered around growth.

Cas: forever the hero. He too has really just been through it and that didn't stop in this book. My only real peeve was the amount of times he said "queen". He's still a man character but did have more of a supporting roll in this book as poppy finds herself. I do want to point out, after seeing comments on it, cas was never possessive of poppy. Not really in away. He was protective which is vastly different when it comes to this series. He's still the same old cas as he was in the previous books. People have been rather dramatic about him Sharing poppy, as If he hasn't stated he wanted to do all manner of things with her.

Kieran: I will never tire of this wolven, everyone can fight me. People seem very confused about poppy and Kierans relationship. Meanwhile all I saw was trauma bonding, seeking comfort in someone you have held dear for awhile, trying to have a foundation to latch onto when your world has slipped from your fingers. Honestly it shouldn't have been so ostracized as if they both didn't lose someone important to them.

Isbitch: still a crazy bitch. Honestly armentrout killed it with this villan because damn that whole experience with her was wild.

Reaver: yes, simply...yes.

All in all, If you're giving the series a shot then go for it. Enjoy the ride. If you decided over some random 3 sentence reviews to never touch the books, then I'm sorry. If you love the books but feel this one was a let down then, again, I'm sorry.  I think its wildly appreciated the effort armentrout puts into her books, especially to push them out back to back the way she has been.
I absolutely think everyone should read ASITE before TWOTQ as you do get introduced to new situations and characters that are spoken of In this book. Overall I think it was all a solid flowing book with enough spice, enough plot twists and heart wrenching moments along with events that had me outright laughing. I'm excited for the rest of these series to be come out.
