This is a great addition to the graphic novel genre for 1st - 3rd grade readers. The illustrations are full color and engaging. Annie seems to be a 6 year old but for some reason Jack looks more like 10/11 to me than 8.5. I like the lower levels of text to keep the reading level equivalent to the chapter books. I definitely feel this is a must add for any elementary library or teacher classroom. Great for emerging readers as well.

In over two decades working at a book store, I've never met a kid who didn't like the Magic Tree House series. This graphic novel is sure to please old and new fans alike! The adaption is well done, and the illustrations are perfectly matched to the text, with vibrant colors and lots of action. So fun!

This took me right back to my childhood! I loved Jack and Annie and they're just as delightful in this new graphic novel!!! I'm so glad a new generation of kids will be able to grow up with these stories :)
This was my favorite book series growing up, and this graphic novel adaptation is perfect! The art captures the story so well, and I was right there with Annie wanting to pet all the dinosaurs. I'm really looking forward to more adaptations of this series.
Thank you Random House and NetGalley for the ARC.

A mysterious tree house appears in the woods behind Jack and Annie's house. Before they could figure out what is going on they are magically transported to the prehistoric past. This is a graphic novel adaptation of the first book in the Magic Tree House Series.
I saw this and had high hopes. This series is one of the few things that my children shared. My daughter is 22 and my youngest is 15, they grew up with the Magic Tree House Series. Even now if you were to say "It spun faster" they will instantly respond with "and everything went still, absolutely still". The tree house pages were beautiful. All of my favorite lines were included exactly as they were in the novels.
When Jack and Annie first come into the tree house all of the books are there with the titles from other Magic Tree House adventures. I loved looking through the background and remembering all of the other books in the series. It brought back so many memories of sitting with my kids and reading. I loved it so much and cannot wait to get my hands on this book. I hope they continue to adapt the series. I will be getting a copy for myself and for my classroom.
