Arc Copy...I don't I'm split on this. Although the art, a fiery princess and political intrigue and workings are solid, the romance wasn't working out for me and...Oh my horrifyingly abusive!

I really enjoyed this one. I’ve read a handful of graphic novels now, and while I often like them, they usually leave me feeling like something’s missing—like I needed just a bit more world-building or character depth to fully click. But SubZero? It totally hit the sweet spot.

The tension between Clove and Kyro was so good—like, the kind of enemies-to-lovers that makes you want to scream into a pillow because the angst. Junepurrr pulled it off perfectly. There’s this push and pull between them, with just enough softness under the surface to make you hope something’s going to shift, but still enough bite to keep you on edge.

What really stood out, though, was the world-building. Graphic novels can sometimes feel a little thin there, but Junepurrr handled it differently. She dropped in really specific details that made everything feel grounded and alive without needing pages of explanation. I never felt lost. Plus, the dragon lore, the 300-year war, and the contrast between the courts added so much weight to the story. It gave the characters real stakes and ultimately made me care for them more.

I especially loved how Clove and Kyro were both figuring things out in their own way. They’re young, they’re rulers, and they’re caught in this impossible political situation. There are still a lot of secrets between them, their families and their courts. I honestly can’t wait to see what happens next / what’s revealed.

If you’re someone who mostly reads romantasy and haven’t dipped into graphic novels yet, this is such a good place to start. It’s got romance, tension, mystery, and just enough fantasy elements to feel immersive without being overwhelming. I’ll be grabbing Volume 2 as soon as I can because I need to know what’s next.

The building is quite slow.. the characters are hmm.. I cant connect with them, they’re quite interesting though. Magic and dragons and political mess made great combination to a story. I hope it will get better on the second volume.
