Was this a fantasy book? Or a written tour of a church / gallery?

There was SO much description. It felt like every single thing Lore saw was intricately described, of which none were relevant to the plot.

For me this missed the mark of mystery & having questions to the amount revealed as we go along. The amount we worked out was zero until the last 10%, by which point I was so bored I didn’t care.

Lore was okay, not too annoying, fairly strong. Gabe was an insufferable pity party, v spineless. Bastian carried some comedic relief & had a little more conviction but it amounted to very little.
