4.25 stars. I read this with my friend @jennifersirgey - We had heard it was super disturbing and after having read other Lisa Jewell books, we wanted to see what the hype was about. I did like the story the pace. And I think this is my favorite Lisa Jewell book thus far, but I was a little underwhelmed by the reveals. They were just laid out like a story and not very 'plot twisty'. Not that there is anything wrong with that -- it just felt different from other 'thrillers'. I actually loved the way the book ended and was happy with the characters decisions (mostly).

Though I enjoyed the last part of the book, overall it was too far-fetched and predictable. I’ve seen in many reviews that readers “figured it out” less than halfway through the book and the same happened for me, after that it was mainly the curiosity of HOW that kept me going. The writing was great and the author knows how to write compelling characters, the plot just wasn’t there.

Loved this book! The plot was immensely interesting, a real page-turner. Prepare for sadness, though; it has really dark themes, not an easily digestable book.

I enjoyed this book. I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure out exactly what happened. I think parts of it were a little obvious, but other parts were not.
