This is no great work of literature but it was a quick easy read. The first 1/3 was a little slow but then it picked up and became more interesting. It wasn’t a great book but wasn’t terrible. If you are looking for an easy fluff read, this is it.
It’s not great literature, it has many flaws, but you know what? This book is fun. It made me smile, it made me chuckle. And sometimes, that’s just what I need
light and fun escape read
Annie and Sarah combine their strengths to make a beauty cream to sell to wealthy book club ladies.
It took a few chapters to get into the story, and then there were a lot of rich ladies to keep up with, but I enjoyed how light and silly but serious the story became and how I came to like the main characters and enjoyed not liking the awful minor characters and also loving some of the others. It was also satisfying how things wrapped up in the end. I love a good ending.
The way each chapter is introduced by referring to another book was a bit confusing at first and didn’t really work for me. The author also used the word flailing enough times in this book (and even her next book, which I loved) that it became noticeable.
The narration was good, but it sometimes felt over the top dramatic until I got used to it, and then it fit well with the characters.

A quick, easy read. Didn't set the world on fire and pulled every ethical and moral punch without consequence. That said, not a bad way to spend a couple of hours if you've got them.
This is a quirky, chick lit type mystery that will make you laugh and wonder how reality based it was. I kept talking to the characters and telling them it was a bad idea what they were doing. There is not much talk about book club, other than little blips at the beginning of the chapters, but more about rich women and desperate mothers.
after a few heavy reads, this was a perfect palate cleanser. light, funny, silly. it would be a cute lifetime movie.
Funny and original. Definitely worth the Kindle First free purchase.
Fun bright read
I enjoyed reading this book a lot. It was fun and light and perfect for the summer. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something quick to entertain them.

No star rating because I couldn't finish it. I think i made it to ch 3. I chose it for the Popsugar Challenge for a book about a book club but this was not about a book club. There were more female jokes & talk about infertility than mentions of books. I don't have that much time to waste.
