This is oh so hot. And all that hotness is combined with a truly stellar plot. The plot of this book is less in line with what I personally like to read than the previous books of the series. Despite not being to my personal taste, the story is clearly well written, with a beautiful backstory, and logical plot progression. 

I am delighted that yet again this book is significantly different from the first two books of the series while still maintaining the optimistic and joyous vibes for the series. This book does contain an epic and fairly graphic battle, which was not at all to my taste, but is well done and necessary for the plot.

- in all of the books so far there’s always a very important question that “determines their relationship” when really it doesn’t matter at all in the long run, and I feel like it’s a bad way to build up suspense that isn’t necessary
- it was never cleared up on how Dakas knew Mateo, Luanas dad. Which makes me mad because i’m curious
- empathetic abilities
- FL is a doctor, and is determined to help people
- I liked how they had magical crystals throughout the book
- also the characters say things in a “tone that brooked no argument” a lot

So this book had a slow start at first but then grew on me. I also thought the soulmate trope was very cute!! And the flight scene (you know which one) can live rent free in my head
