So I was SUPER excited to finally get to read this series! For the most part, I tend to wait until an entire book series has been published before I started reading it so I don't have to wait and wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. I had heard from a lot of people that the [b:Divergent|13335037|Divergent (Divergent, #1)|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328559506s/13335037.jpg|13155899] series were great and so far [a:Veronica Roth|4039811|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1363910238p2/4039811.jpg] has not let me down! I read over 4oo pages in just two sitting which is unheard of for me since I am a college student and usually have a ton of homework to do.
[a:Veronica Roth|4039811|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1363910238p2/4039811.jpg] did an excellent job of creating a strong and independent main female character. These are the types of female characters that I would want my future daughter(s) to read about! The factions were an interesting and new twist on the dystonian novels that are all the rage right now. There were a few shocking twists in the book as well. [a:Veronica Roth|4039811|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1363910238p2/4039811.jpg] used these to keep her readers on their toes!

I can't tell of the ending was abrupt or of I just thought there was more because it said 94% done. Good book though. I'm excited to read the next one. Tris is a good character.

I feel like I should theoretically love this book. But I didn't. It entertained me, but at times I just wanted to be finished with it. I am putting the second and third book on my to-read list, because, hey, we all need a second chance sometimes. However, I am not running out to get them like I did with Harry Potter and The Hunger Games.
This book was very simplistic and never failed to remind me that I was reading a YA book.

One of the best books I've read in a long, long time. Kind of Hunger Games-ish, but (somehow) even better! Well written and developed plot, I got it at the mall yesterday and finished it a few hours ago, it's that good! Can't wait to get the next one!
